hold on tight!

Then those who believe in Allah, and hold fast to Him,―

soon will He admit them to Mercy and Grace from Himself

and guide them to Himself by a straight Way.

Patience

Salamu alikkum wa rahmatulah, hope ramadan is treating everyone well, or better yet, everyone is treating ramadan well.  A while back we talked about patience and how to be patient.  Although i don’t think I can completely understand or can apply it, I think sometimes being patient is being sad or being in pain or being afraid and continuing with life while we’re certain that it is best and that it will pass with the blessing of Allah subhanaho wa ta’alla.   May Allah give us the courage and strength to be patient and the wisdom to know how to do it.

A Guidance & Instruction for those who fear Allah!

“Here is a plain statement to men, a guidance and instruction to those who fear Allah!

So lose not heart, nor fall into despair: for ye must gain mastery if ye are true in Faith.

(Al-e Imran, 138-139)

10 Days GONE???

Salamu Alikum….

Sorry I haven’t been writing on the blog even though it was my idea to write daily (obviously that didn’t work for me) but I have been having trouble with finding a specific time to write on the blog…My comp. is in the basement & I am lazy as anything to go downstairs :(

Alhamdulilah, asamaharaha & Little8opeep have been doing an AWESOME job keeping us up-to-date (we’re still missing someone) so Jazakumullahu Khairan :)

Anywho, My Ramadan has been a Roller Coaster Ride so far….A good day vs. a bad one but Alhamdulilah- I realized that my Escape is in Reading Quran….I could be having the worst day ever but when I sit down to read my Quran, All my distress, anxiety, and problems just disappear so Alhamdulilah, I found MY ESCAPE & I love it

My Goals:

1. Alhamdulilah, I am slacking off lately but my sunnahs are on & off so starting tomorrow inshallah, I will make sure they are ON…

2. Quran Reading is FANTASTIC- Alhamdulilah but my Memorization is sooooooooo Down the Hill—My memory stick is running out :(

I’ll make sure to write on the Blog more often….I apologize for being lazy & my light has been off lately but tomorrow is another day inshallah & may Allah make it brighter than all the days before it :)

Love you All for the Sake of the One who controls our Hearts

InDisguise

Subhanallah, the first ten days of mercy are over.  I was thinking about how the mercy of allah comes in all forms and shapes.  We look at good things as being mercy, and bad things as tests or punishments.  But often there is more mercy in bad events then in good. Often by being oppressed we learn to become victorious and even more we learn to give victory to others.  By making mistakes we  need to be forgiven and as a result learn to forgive others.  By being broken and weak, we become merciful on others who are broken as well.  And as we loose many blessings in and around us, we gain an appreciation and taste a happiness in many other blessings that were once un-noticed.

need help finding an ayah

In dr. Mamdouh’s book (bridge to islam) he references an ayah in the Quran which speaks about successful men and women, listing their attributes. I packed away my books, so i can’t look for it. The ayah speaks about the men and women who fast, are patient, . . . there are like 7 qualities. I know it’s pretty vague, but does this ring a bell for anyone?

Mercy

I really love this dua from suratul Kahf: v. 10!

Behold, the youths betook themselves to the Cave, they said:

“Our Lord! Bestow on us Mercy from Thyself, and dispose our affair for usin the right way!”

Hoping Day 8 will be great!

How are you guys doing on your goals?

Man, i feel like i’m falling so behind bc my Quran isn’t complete, and that’s taking the biggest toll on me. Not fulfilling that goal is making me lazy in other aspects of the day. I need a Ramadan pick me up lecture, or I just need to buckle down.

Alhamdullilah, i’ve been able to make all of my sunnahs :) (may Allah accept them) but I tend to delay dhuhr (gotta work on that tomorrow inshaAllah). As for taraweh, i’ve switched it for qiyaam. (upgrade!) I was getting super weak, and Imam Zia reminded us about the benefits of seeking Allah’s aid in the last 1/3 of the night. So, alhamdullilah :)

You know what’s sad . . . i can’t remember if i had any more goals lol. I hope not.

Depend on Him always

Lol, I am full of words today, but hopefully they’re not empty :)  I remembered something about ibn baz, may Allah have mercy on him, they asked him one day why his lips are always moving , and he said that he was always remembering Allah with zikr and that if he stopped for one minute, his heart would die.  Subhnallah, this is from one of the greatest scholars of our time.  It reminded me of the duaa that the prophet peace be upon him himself would make where he would ask Allah not to leave him to himself even for a moment.  As well as the hadith where the prophet peace be upon him said that there will come a time where holding on to one’s deen is like a person holding on to a burning coal with their bare hands.  And subhanallah, as fast as the hearts change now a days and as easy as people seem to change from day to day, I understand why Ibn baz was soo afraid.  May the one in whose hands are our hearts keep our hearts steadfast on His religion.  May He allow us to see the truth as truth and give us the strength to follow it, and the falsehood as falsehood and give us the strength to stay away from it.

snake skin

I was thinking how snakes shed their skin every now and then and subhanallah, I think humans shed as well.  The skin of the snake is a wall that protects them from the outside and in the same way, we all have this strength and shield that protects us from the outside world.  But the same way that time wears out the snake’s skin, life and its obstacles tends to wear out this shield of ours.  Whether its the sins we commit, tests that Alalh brings our way, harm brought on us by others or simply a combination of all three and more, our skin becomes very weak and incapable of protecting us the way it used to.  And just like the snake, sometimes it becomes so worn out that wee need to shed it and replace it with a new one.  During those times we become the most vulnrable.  We have nothing to protect us, so we feel weak and broken.  But subhanalalh, when we are the lowest we can be is when we can find this new skin thats stronger than the last.   And only then can we have such a shining and lustering new us :)  But the hardest part is having this patience to go through this period of fear, uncertainty, weakness, and pain until we come to the better us.  And subhanallah, its so scary that many people don’t make it, many kill themselves because like with every emotion we feel like this misery will never end.  However in that state, we learn mercy on those who are vulnrable like we once were.  Lacking brute strength and confidence, we are forced to show the kinder, humble side of us.  And most importantly, with no strength of our own, we begin to rely on the strength of the one in whose hands lies all our fates.

May Allah protect us from the trials of this duania and everything that breaks us and may He put in our hearts mercy, forgiveness, and tolerance towards those who are weak, strong, or both.  May He give us the strength to withstand the times we are vulnrable and the ability to become stronger when we come out.
