Suratul Anbiyaa v. 90

bismillah

3 Acts to perfect your worship:

“They used to hasten to acts of devotion and obedience to Allah, and

they used to worship Allah…

1. … upon love and desire, [Ar Raghbah = Love & Desire]

2. … and upon fear; [Ar-Rahbah = Dread & Fear]

3. … and were reverent and humble before Allah. [Al- Khushoo = Reverence & Humility]

Dua in this ayah comprises both worship and supplication. We strive to worship Allah between love & fear, while being submissive to Him Azza wa Jal. When we make dua, we do it out of an earnest desire for what is with Allah subhana wa ta’ala, and hope for reward from Him, and fear of His punishment. Sh. Uthaymeen rahimahullah says that in regards to obeying Allah, hope for reward from Him should be predominate, while when thinking of doing something bad- fear of His punishment should be predominate.

hayakumAllah ya akhwaat ;) lol

1. From suratul Mu’minoon: 117 ” And whoever worships along with Allah any other object of worship has no proof for that; . . . “

If there is no proof for other objects deserving worship, then there has to be proof for why we are to worship Allah Azza wa Jal. What are your proofs for worshipping Allah? Give both intellectual and textual support.

2. What is the deeper difference between ‘rahimahullah’ and ‘rahimakullah’?

3. How many types of fear are there? Explain each briefly.

4. When is fear forbidden?

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ

Bismillah, wal hamdullilah, wa salatu wa salam ‘ala Rasoolillah.

Beginning w/ the Name of Allah Azza wa Jaal is in accordance to His sunnah, as documented in the Quran at the beginning of 113 chapters (not to forget the most important, Al Fatiha, the Opening in which it is considered a verse). It is also His last Prophet’s (sal Allahu alayhi wa salam) sunnah when he had letters written (see letter to Heracules in sahih Bukhari, rahimullah). There is also a weak hadith, according to Sh. Albanee, rahimullah, that states, “Every important matter which is not begun with ‘In the Name of Allah’ is deprived of good.’”

bismi Allah, in all our affairs.

*i pray for your, and my, happiness ;)
